The Arts
Primary School Concert
Each year all students from Year Prep – 6 prepare and perform at our Annual School Concert. Rehearsals take place as part of the weekly performing arts lessons. The concert is an important part of the Performing Arts curriculum program offered at CLTC. The concert highlights students’ Performing Arts learning skills such as dance, singing, drama and stagecraft.
School Band
There is the opportunity for instrumental and voice students to be part of the School Band. There is a great demand for the band to perform at a number of in and out of school events including the College Presentation Evening in December. The band also performs at the mid and end of year music concerts.
School Choirs
There is the opportunity for the singers in our community to join a choir – we have several choirs for students of different ages. The choirs perform at special events across the year within and outside school. Our choirs also sign ‘Auslan’ as part of the performances to ensure our students who are Deaf and Hearing Impaired may participate.
State School Spectacular
The State School Spectacular is offered to interested students from Year 5 -10. The program gives students the opportunity to be part of a mass dance troupe. The College troupe rehearse a dance program over the course of the year under the guidance of professional choreographers and teaching staff. The troupe then go on to perform at Hisense Arena in September.
Visual Arts
The college offers an extensive Visual Arts program from Prep to Year 12. In the secondary school the program is delivered by specialist art teachers. The program culminates in Studio Art and Visual Communication programs at the VCE level. The Visual Arts learning program encourages students at all year levels to explore their creativity through a variety of art forms and foci. Students are exposed to the study of art theory while engaging in a range of art media including painting, sculpture, photography and digital art and technology.
Drama and Theatre Arts
Drama is offered as an elective in the secondary school. Students participating in drama will perform in a production. Students who enjoy performing also have an opportunity to participate in a live show during the Arts’ Festival.
